FPS Test
RenderingFree online FPS test — measure frames per second and frame pacing in your browser.
Everything runs in your browser. Nothing is uploaded. How to use the FPS Test online
- 01 Press Start and keep the tab focused.
- 02 Watch the live counter and the moving box for smoothness.
- 03 Let it run a few seconds so the average stabilises.
- 04 Compare your FPS to your monitor's refresh rate — they should match.
- 05 Finish for min / average / max.
Common problems & fixes
- FPS capped at 60V-sync or a 60 Hz panel caps it. Raise the display refresh rate to lift the ceiling.
- StuttersClose GPU-heavy apps and disable browser extensions that hook into rendering.
- Drops when idleProMotion lowers the rate for static content — the FPS rises again with motion.
- Low FPSConfirm hardware acceleration is on (chrome://gpu) and a compositor isn't forcing v-sync off.

Frequently asked questions
Press Start on this page and keep the tab focused — this frame rate test measures rendered frames under load. It is a quick GPU/browser sanity check, not a substitute for in-game overlays.
Close other tabs, check power mode, and update GPU drivers. Browsers are more limited than native games.
Browsers typically vsync to the display. If the monitor is 60 Hz, you will rarely see above ~60 FPS here.
60 FPS feels smooth for most UI work; 120+ feels sharper on high-refresh panels. Consistency matters as much as the peak number.
Yes — background tabs are often throttled by the browser, which lowers measured FPS.
