CPS Test

Click speed

Count your clicks per second over a fixed window, then see whether your hand or your mouse switch is the limit.

How to use the CPS Test online

  1. 01 Pick a window — one second for a burst, ten seconds for a number worth comparing.
  2. 02 Choose what you are clicking: left button, right button, or the spacebar.
  3. 03 Click the pad to begin. The clock starts on your first click, not on a countdown.
  4. 04 Keep going until the timer runs out. The counter shows your rate as you go.
  5. 05 Read the result: average CPS, your best single second, and how even your intervals were.
  6. 06 Copy the numbers if you want to keep them, or run it again.

Common problems & fixes

  • Clicks stop registering halfway throughSome wireless mice drop into a low-power sleep between bursts. Move the receiver to a rear USB port instead of a hub, and turn off USB selective suspend under Power Options.
  • Every press counts twiceThat is switch chatter, and it inflates your CPS while telling you the switch is worn. The interval spread gives it away — real presses do not land 10 ms apart.

Frequently asked questions

Four to seven over a ten-second run, for someone clicking normally. Under four usually means a stiff switch or a cautious grip, and over ten means a technique rather than individual presses.
