No. Every tool runs in a browser tab. There's no download, no extension, and no account — open a tool and start testing.
Any modern browser (Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari). Chrome and Edge have the fullest API support. A few tools (like Battery) rely on APIs that Firefox and Safari removed — those tools flag it clearly.
Privacy & data
Never. All processing happens locally in your browser using standard web APIs. No audio, video, or keystrokes are transmitted or stored on a server.
No. Results live in the page until you close or reload the tab. You can copy them yourself, but we don't save any test history.
A tool can only read a device after your browser grants access. We show a plain-language pre-prompt explaining why before the browser's dialog appears, and access is used only to run that test.
Yes — browsers grant that access per origin, and you can revoke it any time in site settings. On this site the page only receives a local MediaStream for the test; nothing from that stream is transmitted or stored.
Using the tools
Yes — use the Speaker Test for channel tones, or the Headphone Test for stereo imaging. Both run entirely in your browser.
Open the Dead Pixel Test, enter fullscreen, and cycle solid colors. Dead pixels stay dark; stuck pixels stay one color.
Yes — the Mouse Polling Rate Test measures report rate in Hz. Very high rates can be limited by the OS or browser.
Safari and Firefox removed or restricted the Battery Status API. Use Chrome or Edge to see charge level and charging state, or check your OS battery settings.
Browsers add timing and security limits (throttling, event coalescing, privacy guards). We surface the real measured value and note these caveats inline so you know how to read it.
Some APIs (like the Battery Status API) are deprecated in Firefox and Safari. Those tools show a calm explanation and which browser to use instead.
Yes — most work on mobile. Touch-first tools like the Touchscreen Test shine there, while a few desktop-only tools (Mouse, Polling Rate) show a friendly notice.
The pages are static and every diagnostic runs locally in the tab, so a tool you have already opened can keep running without the network. Ads and the consent banner still need a connection when they load.
That usually points to an OS permission, driver, or app setting rather than broken hardware. Start with the symptom guides in the Guides section — they narrow by operating system, then hand you back to a browser check when you need one.
